Turns of Distinction Woodwork

From Trees to Treasures

About Us

At Turns of Distinction Woodwork we handcraft a variety of lathe turned and flat lay products.  Wooden Bowls, Hollow Forms, Kitchen Utensils, Custom Cutting Boards, Charcuterie Boards, French Rolling Pins and a lot of custom work.

I started making pens many years ago, I then thought I would try my hand at wooden bowls. I attended a seminar and Mike Hosaluk was the instructor. I was immediately taken with the art and have been producing bowls and hollow forms ever since. It never fails to amaze me when you take a block of wood, mount it on the lathe and start to work it. I never really have a plan when I turn a piece, I let the wood’s characteristics, exposed while turning, guide where I am going with it and what I end up with is always unique. I have also taken instruction from other artists such as, Andrew Glazebrook, Bin Pho and Doug Fisher.

I am a proud member of the American Association of Woodturners, South Sask Woodturners Guild, I am also a Member of the Saskatchewan Craft Council with a Professional Craftsman/Juried Artist designation.
