At Turns of Distinction Woodwork we handcraft custom game calls, pens, bowls hollow forms, kitchen utensils and a variety of other lathe turned products.
I started several years ago and making pens was the beginning of my journey. I then thought I would try my hand at game calls. Being an avid hunter, making game calls gives me a great deal of satisfaction and I thoroughly enjoy hearing how well they work from my clients.
I was then introduced to the art of bowl making when I attended a seminar and Mike Hosaluk was the instructor. I was immediately taken with the art and have been producing bowls and hollow forms ever since. It never fails to amaze me when you take a block of wood, mount it on the lathe and start to work it. I never really have a plan when I turn a piece, I let the wood’s characteristics, exposed while turning, guide where I am going with it and what I end up with is always unique.
I am a proud member of the American Association of Woodturners, South Sask Woodturners Guild, International Penturners Association, Callmakers and Collectors Association. I am also a Juried Member of the Saskatchewan Craft Council
